Learn to Make Your Own Dumplings!

The Jeff Seymour Family Center held a dumpling making class this week in celebration of Lunar New Year. The class was hosted by Rio Vista 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Wei-Dumitrescu. You can find the ingredients needed and follow her recipe by clicking the headline!

District Closed Monday, February 8th and February 15th.

In observance of Lincoln's Birthday and President's Day, the District will be closed on Monday, 2/8 and Monday, 2/15. This means our meal distribution will also be closed on those Mondays. Message from Superintendent Garcia: February Update on Distance Learning

Superintendent Garcia provides an update to the status of the District's Distance Learning plan. As of right now, EMCSD will remain in Distance Learning as it reconvenes it's Reopening Taskforce to discuss possible reopening scenarios and timelines. More COVID-19 Testing Dates Added for Week of 1/25

LA County and OptumServe have added three more testing dates to the Jeff Seymour Family Center: January 25th, 26th, and 28th. Testing is available by APPOINTMENT ONLY! Six EMCSD Schools Recognized as 2019-2020 Honor Roll Schools

The El Monte City School District had six of its schools officially named to the Educational Results Partnership 2019-2020 Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle and high schools that demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps. Free Internet Safety Workshops

The Jeff Seymour Family Center will be hosting a virtual 2-part series that will focus on internet safety. The workshops will discuss the dangers of the internet and steps you can take to make technology safer for kids. The workshop dates are January 12th and 19th at 5pm. The violence in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, January 6th was watched by many through various news and media outlets. Your children may have questions or concerns. Remember that we are here to support you. Special Education Parent Webinar & Meeting hosted by WSGV SELPA

The West San Gabriel Valley SELPA is hosting two meetings: Unique Learning System (ULS) Training Webinar - January 9, 2021 (9am - 10am)
Community Advisory Committee Meeting - January 11, 2021 (6pm). The webinar is designed to offer parents ULS training to support parents and families. The meeting will feature a mini-training to help parents prepare for IEPs. Click headline for more details including meetings registration and links.
